This includes overseeing all interceptor system operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing capital improvement projects, and optimizing the performance of the interceptor systems. The Director of Interceptor Operations also serves as a liaison between staff, management, localities, and contractors, while ensuring that all interceptor facilities and equipment are well-maintained and operational. Detailed Description Job Requirements Education Required Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental engineering or related field Desired Master's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, Business Administration or related field. Experience Required Ten years of experience in the maintenance and operation of wastewater utilities. Ten years of management experience, with a focus on training and mentoring staff. Experience managing budgets, teams, and large-scale projects within a utility or similar environment. Desired Experience working with large municipal wastewater utilities, heavy equipment contractors, and engineering consultants. Experience leading large workforces, managing multiple teams, and dealing with regulatory agencies. Experience with project management, system reliability programs, and coordination with contractors and local municipalities. Licenses and Certifications Requirements Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia Driver's license from state of residence Additional Details HRSD is committed to being an equal opportunity employer.
