About DTC Expo & Event Center DTC Expo & Event Center is a new 120,000-square-foot expo and event venue located at Dulles Town Center in Northern Virginia. Designed to host consumer shows, trade shows, conventions, exhibitions, corporate events, and other large-scale gatherings, DTC offers flexible event spaces ranging from 30,000 to 120,000 square feet. As we prepare to open our doors, we are building a hands-on, service-focused team committed to delivering exceptional experiences for event organizers, exhibitors, and guests. This is an opportunity to join DTC at the ground level and play an important role in building Northern Virginia's premier expo and event destination. Position Summary The Venue Operations Supervisor is responsible for the hands-on execution of venue operations, event setup, logistics, and facility readiness at DTC Expo & Event Center. The Venue Operations Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and directly supervises DTC's on-call Event Operations Crew responsible for physical event setup, breakdown, equipment movement, and other venue operations. Key Responsibilities Execute venue setup requirements based on approved event floor plans, equipment orders, and event service plans provided by the Operations Manager. Manage loading dock operations and coordinate truck/vendor access. Coordinate freight elevator use and move-in/move-out logistics. Manage DTC's inventory of tables, chairs, staging, barricades, and other event equipment, including storage, deployment, condition, maintenance, and inventory control. Supervise setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, staging, and other DTC equipment. Schedule, direct, and supervise DTC's on-call Event Operations Crew for event setup, breakdown, equipment movement, loading/unloading, and venue resets. Coordinate the physical deployment of temporary electrical distribution and exhibitor power with qualified electrical personnel. Coordinate venue Wi-Fi/network setup with DTC's IT service providers. Coordinate physical venue logistics with decorators, service contractors, and vendors, including loading access, freight movement, equipment placement, and building access. Coordinate dumpsters, waste removal, and other facility services. Perform pre-event building and equipment inspections. Ensure event spaces, loading areas, public areas, and back-of-house areas are ready for each event. Identify facility maintenance issues and coordinate repairs with appropriate contractors. Monitor HVAC, lighting, doors, loading areas, freight elevator, and other venue systems during events. Support the Operations Manager and Event Coordinators during event operations. Maintain accurate equipment inventory and report damaged or missing equipment. Assist with emergency response and operational issues as needed. Qualifications Experience in venue operations, event logistics, facilities, convention/expo operations, warehouse operations, or a similar environment. Demonstrated ability to lead hourly, temporary, or on-call crews and hold team members accountable for completing work safely and on schedule. Strong hands-on mechanical and technical aptitude. Experience supervising crews or contractors. Comfortable working around electrical distribution, loading docks, staging, building systems, and event equipment. Ability to troubleshoot problems and coordinate outside service providers. Ability to perform physical work and remain active for extended periods. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule. Promote and enforce safe work practices during loading, setup, event operations, and breakdown. Forklift, lift, electrical, OSHA, or similar training/certifications are a plus. What Success Looks Like Success in this role means the venue is physically ready on time, equipment and event setups are completed accurately, operations crews are effectively coordinated, loading and move-in/move-out run smoothly, facility and logistics issues are resolved quickly, and the venue remains safe, functional, and event-ready throughout each event. $60,000-$75,000, based on experienceBonus:
