Job Description

Job Overview Jack Frost Landscapes & Garden Center is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our day-to-day field operations, including landscape maintenance, landscape installation, turf care, fleet/equipment coordination, and other service operations. This is a hands-on management position responsible for keeping crews organized, productive, safe, and on schedule while maintaining the quality and customer service standards expected from Jack Frost. The Operations Manager serves as the primary link between ownership, office staff, crew leaders, drivers, and field employees. Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate daily and weekly schedules for multiple field crews. Supervise crew leaders, field employees, drivers, technicians, and seasonal staff. Monitor labor hours, overtime, productivity, and job completion times. Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to company quality standards. Conduct regular job-site visits and quality-control inspections. Address employee performance issues and provide coaching and training. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and employee development. Coordinate vehicle and equipment maintenance, repairs, and availability. Help oversee DOT, OSHA, safety, vehicle, and operational compliance requirements. Investigate accidents, equipment damage, customer complaints, and operational problems. Monitor materials, inventory, purchasing, waste, and operational expenses. Track key performance indicators including labor efficiency, job profitability, crew productivity, equipment downtime, and customer satisfaction. Work closely with ownership to identify problems and improve operational efficiency and profitability. Provide regular updates to ownership regarding staffing, scheduling, equipment, safety, customer, and operational issues. Qualifications 5-10+ years of experience in landscaping, construction, lawn maintenance, field services, or a similar operational environment. Previous experience supervising multiple crews or teams. Strong scheduling, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage employees while maintaining accountability and professionalism. Understanding of labor costs, productivity, overtime, and basic job profitability. Comfortable working both in the office and in the field. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Basic computer and technology skills. Preferred Landscape or horticultural industry experience. Fleet or commercial vehicle management experience. Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA and OSHA requirements. CDL or familiarity with CDL requirements. Experience with commercial trucks, trailers, skid steers, loaders, mowers, and landscape equipment. Bilingual English/Spanish. Pesticide applicator or related certifications. Schedule Primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays and extended hours during peak season, severe weather, emergencies, or other operational needs. From $75,000.00 per year
