Heritage Title Services is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting & Escrow Operations Coordinator to support our financial and escrow accounting operations. This position works closely with management, our corporate accounting team, and our closing staff to ensure accurate financial records, proper escrow accounting, timely reporting, and efficient accounting processes. The ideal candidate has experience in bookkeeping, accounting operations, banking, title/escrow, mortgage, or a similar financial environment. An accounting degree is not required. We are looking for someone who is highly accurate, comfortable working with financial systems and spreadsheets, and interested in improving and automating processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and review incoming payments, invoices, and deposits. Monitor escrow and trust account activity and research discrepancies. Review outstanding checks, escrow balances, and file-level accounting issues and coordinate resolution. Assist with month-end accounting processes and financial and operational reporting. Monitor A/R and assist with collection/resolution of outstanding invoices. Maintain accurate sales representative assignments and assist with commission and revenue reporting. Process revenue, recording fee, and other accounting transfers within SoftPro (title production and real estate closing software). Assist with 1031 exchange and interest-bearing account accounting and documentation. Coordinate accounting activities with our corporate accounting department. Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve accounting processes. Assist with other financial and operational responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting operations, escrow, banking, mortgage, title insurance, or a similar financial role preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. Experience with accounting or financial software; QuickBooks experience required . Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to learn new technology and work comfortably in multiple software systems. Ability to work independently and manage recurring daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities. Excellent judgment and ability to handle confidential financial information. Experience with title insurance, escrow accounting, or real estate closings is a plus but not required.
