Join the Alamo Group Snow & Ice team in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin! We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and financial performance of our Fond du Lac location.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving efficient execution, optimizing resources, developing the team, and supporting the continued growth of the operation. The Operations Manager will provide strong technical and operational leadership while maintaining a clear focus on three key priorities: safety, quality, and operational performance.
What You'll Do
Operations Management Partner closely with Sales, Engineering, Master Planning, HR, Logistics, Finance, and other Snow & Ice resources.
Manage daily operational schedules and performance across areas including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs).
Develop and manage monthly revenue forecasts.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer and Snow & Ice standards.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational efficiency, technical performance, and customer satisfaction. Financial, Business & Facility Management Manage the plant budget with accountability for costs, performance, and budget variances.
Analyze operational and financial KPIs and implement corrective actions when needed.
Contribute to strategic planning and the long-term growth of the Fond du Lac operation.
Oversee facility operations, including health and safety compliance, security, maintenance, and overall site effectiveness.
Optimize facility utilization to support upfitting, service, and parts operations.
Plan and oversee capital investments and site improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and growth capacity. People Leadership Lead, coach, develop, and empower a multidisciplinary team.
Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain talent aligned with business and growth objectives.
Establish clear roles, responsibilities, expectations, and performance goals.
Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. What We're Looking For Strong planning and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Solid understanding of production control, workforce planning, and production scheduling.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, including 5S, Continuous Flow, and Kanban.
Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance through effective use of processes, systems, tools, and resources.
Experience reviewing and analyzing financial information, including income statements and balance sheets.
Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience working with ERP and CRM systems; JD Edwards experience is preferred.
Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, influence, motivate, and develop others.
Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, as business needs require.
Ability to travel as needed. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
Master's degree preferred.
7-10 years of operational leadership experience.
Previous experience working with heavy road equipment or a related manufacturing environment is a plus.
Proven track record of leading teams, improving operations, and delivering measurable results.
