Job Description
Looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / hands-on Operations Manager with excellent time management skills and proven track record for setting and meeting ambitious goals. We are looking for a candidate with multi location managerial experience who can allocate human and material resources efficiently, direct and communicate with all appropriate people, both internal and external. The Operator/Manager is a hands on/working manager responsible for oversee and managing the daily operation of the facility. Must have heavy equipment operations and metal recycling experience. Responsible for all activities including staffing, training, dispatch, accounts, maintenance, planning. Supervise and direct employees including hiring, discipline and terminations Oversees all departments at location including ferrous, non-ferrous, dispatching, scale office, maintenance, and removal Establishes and maintains relationships with both industrial and public customers Maintains safety and environmental standards and compliance requirements Manages costs and expenditures Prepares and reviews daily and monthly operating reports Operates heavy equipment in the yard (payloader, bobcats, forklifts, hydraulic cranes), perform light equipment maintenance Performs other responsibilities as assigned or directed
Work Hours:
Monday - Friday approximately 6:am/7am to 5pm,Saturday's:
7:30 to 2:15 Full Time Non-exempt position Key Responsibilities Must be self-motivated, energetic and require minimal supervision Must be able to keep information confidential Must be able to take direction and give direction Must be dependable and reliable Generate/review daily and monthly transaction reports and balancing the inventory Effectively and professionally solicit information from internal/external customers (both in person and over the phone) as well as respond to their need for information and assistance with clear and concise verbal directions Responsible for coordinating with Owner's to accurately report production or inventory Health, dental, short term disability and life insurance available the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. 401k & 401k employer match availableJob Type:
Full-time Prefer with 10+ years supervisory experience. Must have excellent communication to carry out conversations with all levels of organization and external customers and vendors to establish trust and credibility. Must be physically hands on - averaging out to approximately 80 to 85% of day Must enjoy working in a fast paced environment Must pass a pre-employment drug screen Travel within 1 to 2 hours of facility Possess good verbal and written communication skills Understand and execute oral and written directions Must be able to us basic business ethics, data review, and reconciliation techniques Must be able to work in a team environment Must be able to be flexible and work varied hours including mornings, evenings, and or weekends as needed Possess initiative and good judgment within established guidelines Have the ability to represent the Company in a professional manner both at the scale house and when dealing with the public Use the scales according to applicable laws and rules and company policy. Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. May require sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
