Job Title:
Shipping Technician I Job Description The Shipping Technician I role focuses on accurately picking, packing, and preparing supplement and vitamin orders for shipment in a highly regulated, FDA-compliant warehouse environment. You will work at a dedicated station, use computer systems and ERP software to confirm orders and generate labels, and handle packages that may weigh up to 50 pounds. This position requires strong attention to detail, consistent attendance, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining exceptional accuracy. Responsibilities Pick and pack supplement and vitamin products, processing up to approximately 300 packages per day while maintaining high accuracy. Work at an assigned warehouse station, standing for the entire shift and safely lifting or pushing items up to 50 pounds. Empty two small carts per hour once fully trained, ensuring a steady and reliable workflow. Use a computer at the workstation to confirm orders, generate shipping labels, and manage order information in an ERP system. Read and write emails using Microsoft Outlook to communicate and confirm order or shipping details as needed. Scan and verify orders and labels to ensure correct products, quantities, and shipping information before dispatch. Follow established Distribution Department procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). Handle shipments using carriers such as FedEx and USPS, following internal guidelines and processes for each service. Maintain a clean, organized work area in a clean-room style environment in compliance with FDA and warehouse standards. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality as part of a small, closely coordinated team. Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical-related products. Essential Skills Previous experience in picking or packing roles in a warehouse or similar environment. Ability to lift and push up to 50 pounds throughout the shift while standing for extended periods. High attention to detail to ensure orders, quantities, and labels are correct and compliant. Basic computer skills, including the ability to confirm orders and create labels using computer-based systems. Ability to read and write emails using Microsoft Outlook or similar email software. Familiarity with ERP systems or ERP software used for order processing and inventory management. Experience with scan-and-verify processes in a warehouse or distribution setting. Understanding of and familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Basic math skills to support accurate counting, verification, and order confirmation. Capability to follow detailed written procedures and quality standards. Willingness and ability to pass any required basic computer and math testing during onboarding. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with FedEx and USPS shipping processes in a warehouse or distribution environment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve order or labeling issues quickly and accurately. Comfort working with warehouse technologies such as scanners and label printers. Familiarity with cGMP requirements specific to distribution or pharmaceutical environments. Ability to collaborate with a small team while maintaining individual productivity and accuracy. Openness to contract-to-hire arrangements and conversion processes in line with company policies Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Benicia, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
