SUMMARY OF POSITION
Savannah Distributing Company is seeking dependable and hardworking Warehouse Forklift & Order Fulfillment Associates to join our warehouse team. This position is responsible for accurately picking and moving products, loading and unloading trucks, operating warehouse equipment, conducting inventory checks, restocking products, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Associates may operate equipment such as sit-down forklifts and order pickers and will use handheld scanners and warehouse management software to complete daily tasks. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented position that requires attention to detail, reliability, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accurately pick, move, and stage products for orders and deliveries. Load and unload delivery trucks as needed. Operate forklifts, order pickers, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Deliver products, supplies, and equipment to designated warehouse areas while ensuring accuracy. Conduct inventory counts and assist with inventory control. Restock products in the appropriate warehouse locations. Use handheld scanners and warehouse management software to locate, track, and process products. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and equipment guidelines. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. Assist with additional warehouse functions as operational needs require. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
Skills & Qualifications:
Highly organized and detail-oriented. Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with limited supervision. Basic mathematical skills. Dependable with excellent attendance and time-management skills. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Reliable transportation to and from work. Forklift and/or order picker experience preferred. Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screening, including background check, drug screening, and physical requirements applicable to the position. Must be able to comply with the company's drug-free workplace and safety policies.
SCHEDULE
Typical warehouse schedules may vary based on department and operational needs.
Current schedules may include:
Monday through Thursday Friday hours as scheduled Overtime may be required based on business needs. Specific shift hours will be discussed during the interview process.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse and dock environment. Regular exposure to moving machinery, warehouse equipment, and varying temperatures. Must be able to stand and move throughout the workday. Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements. Must be able to frequently lift and move products weighing approximately 15 to 80 pounds . Must be able to safely operate or work around forklifts, order pickers, and other warehouse equipment. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Must be flexible and available to work overtime as operational needs require.
