Aerotek is hiring for Order Selector 2nd shift Weekly pay Job Description This Warehouse Associate position focuses on accurately picking and moving materials in a clean, climate-controlled warehouse using a voice-directed system and handheld scanners. You will work with carts and totes to fulfill orders, ensure correct products and quantities are picked, and support timely deliveries. The role requires consistent attention to detail, safe lifting of up to 50 pounds throughout the shift, and a strong sense of responsibility and urgency. Responsibilities Pick orders accurately using the Voxware voice-picking system, headset, handheld device, and scanner, or by using printed pick sheets when appropriate. Follow voice-to-pick instructions to complete orders; confirm order completion in the system and proceed to the next assigned order. Use carts and totes to collect items, ensuring each line item and associated quantity is picked correctly. Transport completed orders to the designated pack-out area and properly stage them for further processing. Maintain high accuracy to ensure the correct items and products are sent, particularly for time-sensitive deliveries. Communicate with supervisors after completing orders to receive new assignments and clarify any issues with orders or inventory. Lift and move items up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift while following safe lifting and handling practices. Walk an estimated 5 to 10 miles per shift while performing picking and material handling tasks. Support inventory control activities such as basic inventory checks and contributing to accurate warehouse inventory. Operate or assist with the use of warehouse equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners if trained and authorized. Assist with loading and unloading, packaging, and general order picking as needed to support overall warehouse operations. Follow established delivery timelines and maintain a strong sense of urgency to meet shipping and delivery schedules. Adhere to all warehouse safety policies, including proper use of equipment, safe operation in aisles, and awareness of surroundings. Maintain a clean, organized work area and contribute to the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse. Participate in training during the initial 1 to 2 weeks and apply learned procedures consistently in daily work. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support a stable and efficient warehouse team. Essential Skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the shift. Capability to walk approximately 5 to 10 miles per shift while performing warehouse tasks. Experience using voice-directed picking systems such as Voxware, or willingness to learn voice-to-pick technology. Proficiency or willingness to learn the use of headsets, handheld devices, scanners, and RF scanners for order picking. Strong attention to detail to ensure correct items and products are picked and sent to the correct destinations. High school diploma or GED required. Demonstrated responsibility and strong attendance record in previous roles. Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency in a time-sensitive, delivery-driven environment. Willingness to learn new systems and processes during a 1 to 2 week training period. Previous warehouse experience, ideally around 3 years, with stable job tenure and limited job hopping. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in warehouse roles such as Warehouse Associate, Picker, Order Selector, Packer, or similar positions. in order picking, packaging, and working in a pack-out or shipping area. Experience with warehouse inventory, inventory control, and cycle counts. Familiarity with loading and unloading trucks or pallets in a warehouse environment. Experience operating sit-down or stand-up forklifts, where training and authorization are provided. Comfort using RF scanners and other warehouse technology for tracking and processing orders. Ability to work both independently and as part of a small, close-knit warehouse team. Stable work history demonstrating commitment and reliability over time. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a clean, well-organized, climate-controlled warehouse with a close-knit and relaxed culture focused on performance and teamwork. The team size is approximately 22 employees, including supervisors, creating a community-oriented environment. You will work with technologies such as the Voxware voice-picking system, headsets, handheld devices, scanners, RF scanners, and warehouse equipment including carts, totes, and forklifts where authorized. Typical shifts include a first shift from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and a second shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The schedule includes two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch, with some overtime possible depending on workload. The facility allows the use of one earbud or headphone so you can listen to audio while still hearing your surroundings, although this policy may change if it affects safety or performance. The breakroom offers vending machines, a television, and plenty of seating, along with microwaves and a refrigerator; there is no cafeteria on-site, but you may leave the site for lunch if you clock out and back in. The dress code is casual and practical: you may wear shorts and short-sleeve shirts as long as clothing fits properly and does not display vulgar, profane, or offensive writing or graphics. Closed-toe shoes are required, and tennis shoes are acceptable, supporting a comfortable yet safety-conscious work setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greensboro, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
