Job Title:
Order Entry Clerk Job Description The Order Entry Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction by accurately processing orders, thoroughly reviewing contracts, and providing proactive support to both customers and the sales team. Serving as a key liaison between customers and internal departments, this role ensures that orders move smoothly through the system, issues are resolved quickly, and communication remains clear and professional at every step. Responsibilities Accurately enter customer orders into the ERP system in a timely manner. Print, sort, and deliver travelers and related documentation to the production floor. Provide backup support to the sales team by answering incoming phone calls. Respond promptly to customer phone calls and emails, addressing questions and concerns. Collaborate with sales, engineering, production, quality, and shipping teams to resolve customer inquiries, including order status, order cancellations, and quality issues. Ensure all customer inquiries are acknowledged within the same business day and work to resolve them as quickly as possible. Clearly and proactively communicate with customers regarding the status of their orders and requests. Support the purchasing team with consumables and some material needs, including ordering paper and conducting purchasing cost comparisons. Provide backup support to the purchasing team for consumables purchasing as needed. Scan quotes and maintain organized electronic and physical file management systems. Perform shredding and other routine document handling tasks in accordance with office procedures. Provide miscellaneous office support to assist the broader team and maintain efficient operations. Essential Skills Order entry and data entry experience with strong attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Customer support experience, including handling phone and email inquiries. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently with minimal supervision. Strong team-player mentality, with a willingness and ability to flex as needed to support customer needs. Energetic, self-motivated, and proactive approach to daily responsibilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using ERP systems is a plus. Background in sheet metal manufacturing or similar manufacturing environments is a plus. Demonstrated go-getter attitude and positive, energetic mindset. Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams such as sales, engineering, production, quality, shipping, and purchasing. Work Environment This role is based in a small manufacturing facility within the office area of the building, working as part of a close-knit team of approximately five people. You will have your own desk equipped with a computer and phone, and you will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The dress code is casual, workplace-appropriate attire, suitable for an office setting within a manufacturing environment. The position involves frequent interaction with internal teams and customers, using ERP and Microsoft Office tools throughout the day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Freedom, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
