Houston, TX 77051Schedule:
6:00am-3:30pmPay:
$17- 19/hour The Houston branch of Openwork has partnered with a growing Pipe, Valve & Flange company in Houston to add an Order Puller to their team!
Position Summary:
Perform core warehouse functions, including receiving and processing incoming inventory, pulling and filling customer orders, packing materials for shipment, and maintaining organized stock areas—primarily working with pipe, valves, flanges, and fitting products.What You'll Be Doing:
Order Fulfillment:
Retrieve, pick, and fill orders from warehouse stock according to order sheets or RF scanner instructions.Shipping & Receiving:
Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks, checking in new merchandise, sorting inventory, and staging orders for transport.Material Handling & Equipment:
Safely operate material handling equipment, including sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, and high-reach order pickers, to pick and move heavy industrial products.Packaging & Staging:
Assemble pallets, wrap, strap, and package orders securely to ensure material integrity during transit.Stock & Inventory:
Store and place items on racks, shelves, or bin locations according to organizational standards.Safety & Maintenance:
Keep work stations, pallet areas, and aisles clean and clutter-free (sweeping, dusting, mopping); strictly follow safety guidelines and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.What We're Looking For:
- Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
Experience:
1 to 2+ years of warehouse experience preferred, specifically in shipping, receiving, or order pulling.Equipment Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, or order pickers.Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with pipe, valves, carbon flanges, and fittings (PVF industry) is a major plus.Lifting Capability:
Frequently lift and move objects weighing 10-50 lbs, and occasionally maneuver materials weighing over 100 lbs with appropriate equipment/assistanceEnvironment:
Industrial warehouse setting; exposure to fluctuating seasonal temperatures and high-capacity material equipment.PPE Required:
- Hardhat; Type 1 Class E, Orange (high visibility)
- Safety Glasses
- ANSI z87+, Clear
- Safety Vest
- Type R, Class 2, None FR, Yellow/Green, or Orange
- Cut resistant gloves LVL 4+
- Steel Toed Boots (at least 5" ankle coverage)
