Packer, Warehouse Packer, Sorter, Produce Packer Catalyst Forward Group - 2.7 Commerce, CA Job Details Full-time $16.90 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Spanish Packing English High school diploma or GED Warehouse experience Picking & packing Full Job Description We are looking for an energetic Produce Packer, Packaging, Packer, Warehouse Packer to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of products. You will sort and package produce fit to send to clients. An Produce Packer, Packaging, Packer, Warehouse Packer must be always on time and able to work long hours on their feet. They are strong and deft with an ability to "pick up" on small details. We expect you to be "picky" when it comes to ensuring the quality of orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sort produce by size, weight, ripeness, and quality according to grading standards. Visually inspect items for defects, contamination, or damage. Remove defective, damaged, or rotting items from the packaging line. Weigh and bag produce into specified quantities using bagging equipment or manual methods. Label and seal bags or boxes accurately and consistently. Stack and organize finished products on pallets for shipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure food safety and workplace safety standards. Report any product quality issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to supervisors. Follow all company policies and procedures, including GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety protocols. Assist in other warehouse tasks as needed, such as cleaning, line changeovers, or rework. Reliable attendance and ability to work flexible schedules including weekends or overtime if needed

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required Previous experience in produce handling, warehouse, or food packaging is a plus. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Knowledge of GMP, GFSI, FSMA, HACCP, or ISO standards is a plus Ability to work in cold or humid environments (depending on product storage requirements). Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English or Spanish. Must be able to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergency repairs as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in a manufacturing and warehouse setting with regular exposure to moderate to high noise levels, temperature fluctuations ranging from approximately 30°F in refrigerated areas to 100°F Fast-paced warehouse office environment with frequent interactions on the warehouse floor. Exposure to cold storage and time-sensitive operations. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced setting Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking throughout the shift Require use of PPE depending on task; this includes gloves, hairnets, and safety shoes Regular exposure to moving machinery, tools, noise, and cleaning chemicals.

Compliance and Safety:

Fast-paced, cold storage warehouse environment. May require extended hours, weekends, or holiday shifts depending on production needs. Adheres to all Cal/OSHA regulations regarding warehouse safety, including but not limited to Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), heat illness prevention, and safe lifting techniques Participates in safety training and hazard communication (HazCom) sessions May be subject to pre-employment background, physical and drug screening in accordance with California labor code and company policy

Pushes basket and pallet over conveyor rollers onto table of turning frame, clamps basket and pallet in place, and moves lever to turn basket upright. Fits lid on container and nails, wires, or tapes in place. Stamps grade, brand, and date of packing on container. Washes and trims produce, such as lettuce and carrots, preparatory to packing, working in warehouse or on harvesting machine in field. Sorts produce according to size, color, and grade before packing. May weigh packed produce and add or remove produce from container to obtain specified weight.
