About ThePackengers ThePackengers is a global fine art logistics company specializing in the packing, handling, storage, transportation, and delivery of artwork, antiques, collectibles, and other high-value items. Our Los Angeles operation supports galleries, auction houses, dealers, collectors, designers, and private clients throughout the U.S. and internationally. We are looking for a Warehouse Packer to join our Los Angeles team. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, physically capable, and interested in developing a career in fine art logistics. Position Overview The Warehouse Packer / Picker is responsible for preparing artwork and other valuable items for safe transportation. Responsibilities include receiving and organizing inventory, packing and crating a variety of objects, preparing shipments, assisting with collections and deliveries, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse. The position will also involve driving company trucks up to 26 feet in length for local collections and deliveries. The employee may be responsible for safely transporting artwork between client locations, auction houses, galleries, warehouses, and other facilities throughout the Los Angeles area. Key Responsibilities Safely pack and prepare artwork, antiques, furniture, collectibles, and other high-value items for shipment. Wrap and protect artwork using appropriate packing materials and specialized techniques. Assist with custom crating and preparation of oversized or fragile items. Receive incoming artwork and shipments and verify items against order documentation. Inspect items for visible damage or discrepancies and immediately report concerns to management. Label, stage, and organize completed orders for pickup or shipment. Maintain accurate order and inventory statuses in company systems. Photograph and document items when required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Properly organize packing materials, tools, and equipment. Assist with loading and unloading trucks and delivery vehicles. Safely move artwork and other objects throughout the warehouse using appropriate handling techniques and equipment. Collections & Deliveries Drive company vehicles, including trucks up to 26 feet , for local collections and deliveries. Safely transport artwork, antiques, furniture, and other valuable or fragile items. Complete scheduled collections and deliveries throughout the Los Angeles area. Load and secure cargo appropriately to prevent movement or damage during transportation. Assist with the loading and unloading of artwork at client, gallery, auction house, and warehouse locations. Communicate professionally with clients and other third parties during collections and deliveries. Complete required delivery and collection documentation. Conduct basic vehicle checks and report any maintenance or safety concerns. Follow all company, DOT, and vehicle safety requirements applicable to the position. Coordinate with the warehouse and operations teams regarding daily routes, pickups, deliveries, and order status. General Responsibilities Work closely with Warehouse, Production, Shipping, and Operations teams to ensure orders are completed on schedule. Follow company procedures relating to safety, packing standards, inventory control, transportation, and handling. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when representing ThePackengers at client locations. Assist with other warehouse, packing, handling, and logistics responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in warehouse operations, packing, shipping, moving, art handling, furniture, logistics, or a related field preferred. Experience driving box trucks or vehicles up to 26 feet is strongly preferred. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record required. Ability to safely operate a 26-foot truck and maneuver in urban environments. Fine art, furniture, antiques, auction house, gallery, or specialty logistics experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow packing and handling instructions precisely. Comfortable working with fragile, valuable, oversized, and irregularly shaped objects. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Basic computer/tablet skills for updating order and delivery information. Experience with pallet jacks, dollies, lift gates, or other warehouse equipment is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift and move packages and objects weighing 50+ lbs , with team assistance for heavier items. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work on your feet for extended periods. Ability to safely move and handle large, fragile, and high-value objects. Ability to safely load and unload trucks. Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and physical activity. Ability to drive for extended periods as required for collections and deliveries.
