Full Job Description Shipping Department Requirements:
- Knowing the due dates on jobs and strive to reach them
- Knowing what it would take to ship something safe and efficiently
- Knowing how to package and prepare something to ship (crate/box)
- Knowing what goes in your shipment
- Knowing the rules and regulations of shipping (international / hazardous)
- Knowing where shipments are going and how to get them there, as in all addresses or if we are using a third-party shipping or sending to a third party.
- When your area is slow, come to the floor and help out with production.
- Writing up a report and filling out our shipping details forms and emailing to the appropriate people no matter what size shipment. (Cover our butts)
- Making sure we take pictures and document everything important.
- If having someone help you (build crate/wrap signs/write information on shipment) that you oversee it and make sure it was done correctly.
- Create a file for everything you do. (pics/bol's/tracking confirmations)
- Track package all the way to make sure your part done (print confirmation and attach to proper email then document is in its correct file
- Make sure to keep shipping material and supplies stocked so we never have to rush to get or not meet a deadline because we do not have.
- All these steps are important because in the end it falls on your shoulders if it is not done correctly.
- We understand that you can't control everything (weather / couriers / acts of God) but anything that can be prevented.
- With this a level of control is to be had, anything you see that could jeopardize the shipment you
- Have a voice, you see a problem, you correct it. You need to bring to the table a professional attitude and help the team carry the project across the finish line. Things that will affect any bonus or potential for a raise
- Being late all the time without good reason or speaking to your manager (just text)
- Being on your phone all the time
- Not clocking out for lunch or long breaks
- Not turning in your job log tracking
- No wearing your radio
- Being aggressive towards other employees
