Job Description

Position Summary The Packer ensures every pastry and order leaves Ophelia looking as good as it tastes. This role is responsible for arranging the pastry display case and carefully packing to-go orders so that presentation and product integrity hold up from counter to customer. Packers work quickly to avoid bottlenecks during peak hours while maintaining an organized, food-safe packing area — all with a steady, upbeat presence even when the pace picks up. Key Responsibilities Pack and arrange pastries into to-go boxes and bags with care to protect their appearance and integrity Style and maintain the pastry display case throughout the shift Work with speed and efficiency to keep orders moving and prevent bottlenecks during rush periods Maintain an organized, clutter-free packing area at all times Follow proper food handling procedures, including product rotation (FIFO), glove use, and surface sanitizing Communicate with cashiers and baristas to confirm order details and special requests Monitor pastry case stock levels and flag replenishment needs to management Maintain energy, stamina, and a positive attitude through peak service hours Other Duties as Assigned This job description reflects the primary responsibilities of the role but is not exhaustive. Qualifications & Skills Strong attention to detail and care for product presentation Ability to work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality Solid understanding of food safety basics (rotation, glove use, sanitation) Physical stamina to maintain pace and positive energy through busy rushes Good organizational habits and comfort working in a compact space Team-oriented communication style Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Ophelia does not provide visa sponsorship for this position Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods Ability to lift and carry pastry trays, boxes, and supplies (up to ~25 lbs) Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced packing station Weekend & Schedule Availability Ophelia operates as a mobile bakery with peak demand on weekends and around morning service hours. This role requires availability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) as a regular part of the schedule, along with flexibility for early morning shifts, holidays, and occasional schedule changes based on business needs (special events, catering, pop-ups).
Compensation Base pay:
$10.98-$13.00/hour + tips
