Job Title:
Production Associate - 1st Shift (East Moline, IL) Job Description This 1st shift Production Associate role supports warehouse and production operations by moving, cutting, labeling, packaging, and preparing copper pipe and tubing for shipment. You will work across multiple departments, including production cells, saw operation, receiving, shipping, and work orders, to ensure customer orders are completed accurately, safely, and on time. Responsibilities Move copper pipe and tubing to designated pick locations throughout the warehouse. Pull customer orders accurately according to work orders and pick lists. Bar code and label pipe and related products to ensure proper identification and traceability. Bundle and wrap pipe securely to meet packaging and safety standards. Cut pipe according to cut sheets and specifications using appropriate tools and equipment. Segregate and identify scrap material according to established procedures. Apply protective tubing to wire and prepare products for safe and secure shipment. Box and package products so they are protected and ready for transport. Wrap finished product for shipment to retail and commercial customers. Load outbound shipments safely and efficiently onto trucks. Unload inbound trucks as needed and move materials to appropriate areas. Support general warehouse tasks, including inventory-related activities, assembly, labeling, loading, and unloading. Operate basic hand tools and production equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Follow all safety guidelines, housekeeping standards, and operational procedures within the warehouse. Essential Skills Experience in production, general labor, or warehouse work. Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively. Ability to operate basic machinery or production equipment after training. Experience with shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading trucks. Ability to perform packaging, labeling, and basic assembly work. Capability to handle physical tasks such as moving, lifting, and bundling pipe and tubing. Strong attention to detail to follow cut sheets, labels, and order specifications. Reliability in working a consistent 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is beneficial. Familiarity with inventory-related activities such as picking, labeling, and tracking materials. Comfort working around production equipment and in a non-climate controlled environment. Willingness to cross-train in multiple departments such as production cells, saw operation, receiving, and shipping. Ability to learn bar coding and labeling systems used for product identification. Work Environment This position is based in a non-climate controlled warehouse environment, which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter months. You will work on a 1st shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role involves regular physical activity, including standing, walking, moving materials, and working around production equipment and trucks in shipping and receiving areas. Standard warehouse attire appropriate for an industrial environment is expected. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Moline, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
