- Forklift experience required Job Summary Responsible for loading and unloading pallets of product including incoming raw ingredient and outgoing finished product while maintaining documentation.
Report to Warehouse Manager or supervisor. Performance Dimensions and Tasks Time Spent (%) 1. Equipment 30% Utilize various pieces of equipment and machinery including but not limited to; forklifts, manual and electric pallet jacks, cardboard compactor, printers, commercial truck. Obtain necessary certifications for equipment prior to usage. Check readings on trucks and maintain logs. 2. Loading and Unloading 15% Operate necessary equipment to load and unload product or additional equipment onto or from trucks. Avoid product, equipment, or facility damage. Document actions accordingly to maintain inventory integrity. 3. Product Supply and Staging 15% Stage mix room product and deliver additional product as needed. Deliver unfilled packaging boxes to packaging as needed. Lift cases of raw ingredient from pallets and into coolers multiple times a week. Unload pallets of incoming raw ingredient and load pallets of outgoing finished product. Pick up completed pallets on time and store properly. Move product between production and distribution buildings. 4. Communicate 10% Inform Quality or supervisor of any incorrect labels or damaged packaging. Direct employees out of the way while unloading, loading, and moving product to maintain safe conditions. Work with other warehouse employees to load and unload product. Request assistance from maintenance for damaged or faulty equipment. Listen for the arrival of truck drivers and product delivery/pick-up. Assist various departments when necessary to supply product. Use 2-way radio when applicable to communicate with packaging or other areas as needed. 5. Data Keeping 15% Maintain documentation via shipping and receiving logs. Record daily log on forklift usage and maintenance. Identify allergen contents of product and separate from other product as space permits. 6. Pallet Stacking 5% Stack cases of product weighing up to 50 pounds on a cart or pallet. Stack up 800-7000 cases a day depending on product. Maintain proper stacking specifications. 7. Housekeeping 5% Sweep and mop coolers to maintain cleanliness and integrity of stored product. Sweep the freezer. Break down and process used boxes via the cardboard compactor. Take additional refuse to trash cans and indoor dumpster. Empty refuse into outdoor dumpster regularly. Sweep and mop warehouse floors as necessary to promote safety and clean environment. Clean forklifts regularly to maintain integrity of equipment and prevent unnecessary contamination or malfunction. Charge forklifts and pallet jacks as necessary. Conduct pest trap checks as necessary and document. 8. Training 5% Use experience to train new personnel to perform the basic functions of the job. Ensure they are supervised and not left to perform independently prior to satisfactory training.
