Position Summary Operate a punch press efficiently to produce quality parts that meet or exceed customer specifications for quality, cost, and delivery using the most economical methods. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Stamping•
Punch Press Operator Key Responsibilities Production Operation:
Operate punch press machinery in accordance with work instructions and safety standards. Accurately enter production data into the PLEX system as directed.
Quality & Inspection:
Collaborate with the Quality Department to ensure parts meet customer specifications. Inspect parts during production runs to ensure they meet quality and dimensional requirements. Read and interpret blueprints and use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
Efficiency & Maintenance:
Achieve part-specific run efficiency goals while maintaining quality and minimizing scrap. Assist with basic maintenance of tooling and press equipment. Continuously work toward improving setup and run times.
Safety & Workplace Standards:
Strictly follow all safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and company policies. Wear all required PPE as instructed. Keep the work area clean and organized in line with 5S principles. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience operating a punch press or multislide equipment is preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. Must be able to move freely within the office and work area. Requires independence, sound judgment, and discretion in performing job duties. Great hand and eye coordination. Exposure to noise, dust, and metal particles in a manufacturing setting. Role may require standing, bending, lifting, mobility across the production floor and working with hands for extended periods. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Responsibilities may change based on operational needs.
Schedule:
On-Site Monday to Thursday (Potential for overtime Fridays/Saturdays) 6AM-4:30PM Sunday to Thursday (Potential for overtime) 8PM-6
