Job Description

Picker/Packer Every role at Farm to Market Bread Co. is responsible for supporting the production of high-quality baked goods in a fast-paced commercial wholesale bakery environment. Food safety and product quality are the highest priorities, and all employees are expected to strictly follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, and all other food safety and sanitation procedures. All positions collaborate with team members to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workplace while meeting production, quality, and operational goals. The Production Packager will support all aspects of the packaging department. This position reports directly to the Packaging and Assistant Packaging Managers. Responsibilities Ensure bread is fully cooled prior to beginning the packaging process Assist with slicing bread according to customer orders using commercial slicing equipment Assist with packaging and bagging bread products Assist with casing product Label and date all packaged and/or cased products accurately Organize packaged products for order pulling and palletizing Operate and assist with commercial packaging equipment to package items such as croissants and other specialty products Pick wholesale bread orders for next-day delivery according to pick lists and delivery routes Work in walk-in freezers to build, stage, and organize pallets of finished products Keep all packaging materials properly labeled, organized and stored Maintain food safety, sanitation, and quality standards throughout all areas of the bakery Perform general warehouse duties Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Ability to follow GMP, HACCP, SQF, and all company food safety and sanitation standards Basic math skills Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment Dependable with consistent attendance and punctuality Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and demonstrate initiative and pride in work Positive, professional attitude with willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining product quality and safety Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace Physical Requirements Ability to consistently move in a full range of motion Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work in environments with temperature variations Benefits & Perks Partial employer-paid medical Employer-paid Telehealth Employer-contributed FSA Partial employer-paid vision Dental Employer-paid life insurance 401K plan + match Paid time off $30/month bread allowance + 50% off bread orders that exceed $30/month About Since 1993, Farm to Market Bread Co. has been baking quality, all-natural bread in the heart of Kansas City.
