Position Summary The Warehouse Picker is responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting, building, wrapping, and preparing customer orders for delivery in accordance with company standards. This is a physical, fast-paced position that requires employees to remain active throughout the workday. The Warehouse Picker regularly stands, walks, bends, reaches, and lifts beverage products while working in a warehouse environment that may be exposed to hot or cold temperatures. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accurately select and build customer orders according to order sheets and company procedures. Stack products safely and securely on pallets. Wrap, label, and prepare completed orders for delivery. Review order sheets and verify that orders are complete and accurate. Operate manual pallet jacks and other approved warehouse equipment. Repackage or properly handle damaged products as directed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Follow all warehouse safety rules, procedures, and supervisor instructions. Meet established productivity and accuracy expectations. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other warehouse team members. Assist coworkers and other departments as operational needs require. Perform other related duties as assigned. Candidates must possess:
The ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Dependable attendance and punctuality. The ability to follow written and verbal instructions. The ability to read and understand order sheets, product labels, safety information, short correspondence, and workplace communications. The ability to complete basic written documentation. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The ability to apply common-sense judgment when carrying out instructions. Strong attention to detail and order accuracy. Effective time-management skills and the ability to meet productivity expectations. The ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The willingness and ability to learn proper warehouse and material-handling procedures. Equipment Used The Warehouse Picker may be required to safely operate or use: Manual pallet jacks Hand carts Pallets and product-wrapping materials Other approved warehouse equipment and tools Employees must complete any required training before operating company equipment. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred; or An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Previous warehouse, order-selection, distribution, or material-handling experience is helpful but not required. Physical Requirements While performing the essential duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to: Stand and walk for up to eight hours or more during a scheduled shift. Frequently bend, reach, stoop, squat, push, pull, and twist. Regularly lift, carry, and move products weighing up to 50 pounds. Repeatedly handle cases, bottles, cans, and other beverage products. Safely move loaded and unloaded pallets using approved equipment. Maintain the physical endurance necessary to work continuously in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment The Warehouse Picker works primarily in a warehouse and distribution environment.
