Job Description

Job Summary Novel Beverage is seeking a reliable, hard working team member to assist in manufacturing, packaging and facility maintenance at our cannabis beverage and products manufacturing business in Scarborough, Maine. In this role you will be responsible for assisting and taking direction from our plant manager. Attention to detail, ability to take and follow instructions, and a "do-it-right" attitude are critical. Duties Assist in the preparation, cooking, and processing of beverages and edible products according to established recipes and production standards Assist in the operation of manufacturing equipment and material handling tools safely and efficiently, including forklifts and other machinery Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils Conduct quality checks throughout production to ensure products meet safety, regulatory, and company standards Follow all safety protocols, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) use, heavy lifting techniques, and machine troubleshooting procedures Support packaging operations by accurately weighing, labeling, sealing, and boxing finished products Assist with inventory management, material handling, and storage to ensure smooth workflow continuity Adhere to manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and legal compliance standards in food production Participate in ongoing training related to food safety management systems and regulatory updates Experience Previous experience in food production or manufacturing environments is preferred and additional training will be provided Familiarity with commercial food, beverage and CPG manufacturing operations Basic math skills for measurements, portioning, and quality control processes Mechanical knowledge or troubleshooting skills related to machinery operation are a plus Experience with food handling regulations such as HACCP or GMP is desirable Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely over extended periods Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment is beneficial but not mandatory Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards in production environments Benefits (eligible after 6 months of employment) 10 days paid-time-off annually $200 per month health expense reimbursement plan We are a small, locally owned business which has built a dominant market share in our categories.
