We are currently looking for 2 part time packerS. Must be 18 years or older. Must be available at least 4 days a week (M-F) starting at 8:30 am. End times are different every day. We are not able to accommodate split shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires basic math skills and moderate level reading skills.
• Requires the physical ability to stand for entire shift.
• Requires the physical ability for moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs).
• Requires working in a cold environment (38 - 45 degrees F).
• Requires the physical ability/full range of motion for fingers/hands/arms/shoulders.
• Requires the physical ability of repeated bending and twisting.
• Requires the physical ability to maneuver a pallet jack with up to 800 lbs of finished goods.
• Requires ability to multi-task and prioritize duties to ensure the smooth flow of production.
• Requires organization.
• Requires excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sort labeled finished product boxes onto the proper skids by item, and when complete place them in the designated cooler area for that item.
• Verify that the box size and label matches the bouquet type packed for it.
• Verify that all boxes are taped according to company standards.
• Verify that the bucket filling machine is functioning properly, and that buckets are filled to level with proper preservative content according to company standards. Make sure that every day after production is complete that the bucket machine is flushed properly.
• Assist the line leads in the course of their duties to ensure production speed is as fast as possible while still maintaining quality of finished product.
• Assist in line changeover to ensure a minimum of down time.
• Monitor water spillage and mop as necessary to eliminate slippage hazard.
• Assist with related areas as needed: bouquet boxing, bucket filling, cleaning, etc.
• Assist with production area cleanup at the end of the day and assist in moving of bulk flower product back to the designated stocking areas.
• Assist with monitoring cardboard levels in production department and crush boxes in compactor as needed.
• Position requires flexibility in working varying hours - including, but not limited to, extra hours during peak holiday times.
• Position requires the flexibility of being able to work in a different function/capacity during peak holiday times as needed.
• Position requires the ability to remain motivated, fast-paced and task-focused while performing repetitive actions.
