Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Packer and Delivery Driver, where you will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive their orders promptly and professionally. This energetic position combines efficient packing, safe food handling, and reliable delivery skills, offering an opportunity to contribute to exceptional customer service. We are a European artisan bakery in its 28th year, located off the Main Street west alley in Rochester, MI. The job is currently for Sunday and Monday packing and delivery, from roughly 4am - 11am . Additional days may become available in the future. We offer competitive pay. Duties Carefully pack orders of bread and pastries, paying close attention to packing sheets for accuracy, and ensuring items are secure for transport. Load and unload the company owned delivery van with crates and bins (each around 20lbs when full). Operate the delivery van along designated routes, following all traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Use mobile devices to navigate routes, update delivery statuses, and communicate with dispatch or customers as needed. Provide excellent customer service by delivering product promptly, professionally, and with a friendly attitude. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and manual handling activities to ensure compliance with safety protocols. Experience Previous packing and delivery experience in the food and/or bakery sector is preferred. Commercial driving experience, including operating cargo vans in urban areas. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Knowledge of safe food handling practices required. Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to adhere strictly to DOT regulations and safety standards.
