POSITION SUMMARY
In this position reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipper will be responsible for all aspects of inspection, banding and packaging product to ensure product adheres to Tandem's quality expectation In this position you may be required to support other areas of the plant as needed.
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Receive incoming product Inspect packaging - looking for damage Open package - locate packing slip, compare & count product Deliver to proper location Off load and load product onto shipping trailers and containers Add structural support to containers to prevent movement of product during shipment Perform the final packaging of all Tandem Products materials for shipment Including a basic final cosmetic inspection Ensure product is banded and labelled correctly Weigh and take a picture of each pallet Ensure product is on the correct size pallet and is well protected to prevent damage during shipment Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities Accurately loading/unloading trucks and minimizing shipping costs Accepts other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned or as need becomes apparent
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED
Able to demonstrate and keep high quality standards. Ability to safely drive a forklift Ability to read tape measure Ability to accurately follow documentation and package product to prevent damage Strong communication skills and ability to work with others to get results
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Reasonable vision or corrected vision Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Able to work in an environment with frequent exposure to fumes and dust Able to work in heat Able to lift and reach above your head. Able to twist and bend Able to demonstrate reasonable dexterity 3-5 years experience
