Job Description

Description Position Summary The Sr Packer performs all shipping, material movement and receiving duties and confirms inventory levels. This job directly affects both internal and external customers. It also affects Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality goals of the division. Routine internal contacts may include, but not limited to Sales Administration, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Material handling and Planning. Primary Duties Reading and interpreting packing orders or lists to determine the items to be packed Inspecting and preparing items for packaging, ensuring they are not damaged or defective Wrapping, packing, and securing items in containers or boxes using a variety of cushioning materials Sealing and labeling packages appropriately according to packing instructions or shipping regulations Operating machinery or using tools as required for packaging, such as tape dispensers, maintaining an organized and clean work environment to ensure safety and efficiency Performing inventory checks and reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor Follows all departmental and company safety policies including maintaining warehouse and work areas following 5S principles Assembling, preparing, and loading containers or pallets for shipping Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education, Training and Experience High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. 1+ years of experience in a shipping and/or receiving environment and/or data entry experience. Knowledge of materials management and inventory accuracy principles. Preferred Education, Training and Experience 2+ years of experience in a shipping and/or receiving environment and/or data entry experience. Knowledge of materials management and inventory accuracy principles. Truck driving experience preferred. Basic:
demonstrates fundamental awareness and can perform routine tasks with guidance Knowledge of Kaizen and 5S principles. Good close vision and hand dexterity for computer Ability to use material handling equipment such as a floor jack, hand truck, order picker, and forklift. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements (Summary) Ability to remain in stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods. Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like. Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day. Ability to operate heavy machinery. Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. The estimated salary range for this role in the state of Missouri is between $18.50 and $28.20 This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux's bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate's experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
