GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Shipping and Receiving plays an important role in the Company's success. The Shipping and Receiving staff will work in the warehouse and focus primarily on the process and movement of product to and from truck/trailers/containers in a timely manner, allowing accurate and on-time delivery of orders as well as placement and storage of inbound material.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items loaded or unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against documented counts and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers and supervisors per company protocol. Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments. Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions. Transports materials on shipping dock with a hand truck or forklift, as needed. Loads and unloads trucks or trailers and containers using a forklift. Performs other minor but important clerical duties. Order fulfilment or staging finished product based on production orders/pick sheets, accurately verify item quantities and specifications, and prepare them for transportation, which includes proper marking, packaging, taping, shrink wrapping, and loading. Inspect outbound products and inbound materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies upon receipt, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel. Ensure that materials are stored in designated areas in accordance with safety and quality standards. Collaborative communication with various departments, including Production, Procurement, and Customer Service, to facilitate the efficient flow of products and resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols, operating procedures, and regulatory guidelines while handling materials, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. Cycle count inventory according to established guidelines and assist with developing actions to correct inventory problems. Properly identify and locate all parts according to established procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned, while understanding duties may change with or without notice.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
  • High School GED
  • Required
  • High School Diploma
Preferred Experience:
1+ years of forklift operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task, follow-through on assigned tasks to completion, and work without supervision. Ability to develop working relationships with a variety of people. Can perform safely and with a sense of urgency, as necessary. Good math and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand on a forklift. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds potentially with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and ability to adjust focus.
