Order Puller/Packer

Basic Math Skills Understand the unit of measure (and its conversions.) Follow instructions. Must be able to read and fully understand any type of written or digital pick slip. Operate a handheld scanner to pick orders. (pick from printed pick slips or written labels when required). Pull products accurately and within productivity guidelines. (When picked from the scan gun you must ensure that the product is picked from the correct location, assigned to the correct pallet, the box count is calculated correctly, and the quantity is manually entered into the scan gun. When picking from a printed pick slip you must ensure that all pick locations are filed out correctly, all product is assigned to the correct pallet(s), that you print your name and date legibly on the upper right corner of the first page, and that any split lines are shown clearly). Build orders in a stable manner and by height and weight standards. (All coil room and stick department pallets must be appropriately strapped as well as any pallets where there are coils stacked more than three high. 5 ft and 10 ft stick pallets must be built with wooden sides and toppers if over 3 feet tall or the load requires). Ensure all boxes are filled, cut to fit, and/or packed with packing material when required. Use appropriate boxes and envelopes depending on the product. (factor in the size, weight, and if the order has any delicate items, etc.). Prepare pallets as required by type (labels, cardboard tops, borders, placards, etc.) and place them in the correct area for wrapping. Perform quality control checks on orders as required by type. (Drop shipments are checked against a printed THD.com sheet, coil room pallets are checked against the label, etc.). Accurately match shipping label orders and sticker them neatly. Report product shortages to replenish team members promptly. If there is not enough product currently in inventory to complete your order, alert your Lead. Remove defective or damaged products and materials to specified areas (using a scan gun) Remove partial boxes to specified areas when created (using a scan gun)
