(Geeky) Packaging Operator / Assembly Specialist
Job Description
Foam Brain Games is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Packaging Operator / Assembly Specialist to join our team of hobby gaming geeks. This position is responsible for producing and packaging our collectible Mystery Loot products and other tabletop gaming accessories. You do not need experience with our specific equipment or packaging process — we will train you. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working hands-on work, pays close attention to details, and can independently manage a production process from start to finish. Knowledge of tabletop games, RPGs, dice, collectibles, or the hobby gaming industry is strongly preferred. What You'll Do Your primary responsibility will be producing and packaging our Mystery Loot collectible products.
This includes:
Operate and monitor a flow-wrap packaging machine used to individually package products. We will train you on how to use this machine. Gather and organize the different products needed for each production run. Carefully mix and distribute product variations according to production instructions so finished displays contain the correct assortment. Assemble and fill retail display boxes (PDQs) with finished packaged products. Troubleshoot minor machine or packaging issues and recognize when additional assistance is needed. Perform quality checks throughout production to make sure products are packaged correctly and meet Foam Brain standards. Count and track completed units and materials used. Keep your work area, equipment, and production materials organized. Coordinate with other departments when products or materials are needed. Assist with other light production, assembly, packaging tasks as needed. What We're Looking For The right person for this position is someone who can be trained on a process and then take ownership of it. You should be comfortable working independently, keeping yourself on task, and recognizing when something doesn't look right. We're looking for someone who: Is mechanically comfortable and willing to learn how equipment works. Can follow detailed production instructions accurately. Is organized and able to keep track of multiple product variations and quantities. Has strong attention to detail and notices inconsistencies or mistakes. Can work independently without needing constant direction or supervision. Is dependable and able to maintain a steady production pace. Is comfortable performing repetitive production and packaging tasks. Can stand and move around the production area for much of the workday. Can safely lift and move boxes and production materials as needed. Communicates clearly when there is a problem, missing material, or production issue.
•Familiarity with tabletop gaming, RPGs, dice, collectibles, hobby games, or similar products is strongly preferred. About the Work This is a hands-on production position. A typical day may involve setting up a packaging run, organizing several different collectible products, operating the flow-wrap machine, checking finished packages for quality, assembling retail display boxes, and preparing completed products for inventory or fulfillment. Some production runs involve thousands of individual items, so accuracy and consistency are important. At the same time, our products and production needs change frequently, so this isn't traditional factory-line work where you perform exactly the same task every day. We're a tabletop gaming company, and you'll be working with products like dice, enamel pins, and gaming accessories. About Foam Brain Games Foam Brain Games is a tabletop gaming accessory manufacturer and wholesale distributor based in Albany, NY. We design, manufacture, package, and distribute products for game stores, conventions, and customers throughout the hobby gaming industry. We're a small company, which means employees have a meaningful impact on how their department operates. We're looking for someone who can learn our production process, become confident with the equipment, and ultimately take responsibility for keeping this area of production running smoothly.
