2015 certification to uphold our standards of excellence. Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Shipping Packer to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently packing, labeling, and preparing shipments of aerospace support equipment while ensuring safety and accuracy throughout the process. Your efforts will directly contribute to maintaining our reputation for timely delivery and quality service. Duties
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, bills of material, work orders, customer purchase orders, and contractual packaging instructions.
- Identify and follow applicable government and military packaging, preservation, marking, labeling, and documentation requirements specified by the contract or order.
- Select the correct containers, cushioning, barrier materials, corrosion protection, blocking, bracing, fasteners, labels, and shipping marks for each product.
- Measure products and calculate container dimensions and material quantities; build or prepare crates, skids, boxes, and other shipping containers as required.
- Verify part number, quantity, revision, condition, special instructions, destination, and required documentation before sealing any package.
- Perform final visual and dimensional checks to prevent damage, shortages, mixed parts, incorrect labels, and packaging nonconformance.
- Use computers, email, ERP/MRP systems, shipping software, document-control systems, printers, scanners, and shared files accurately.
- Maintain traceability and complete all packing lists, certifications, photographs, inspection records, and shipment documentation required by the order.
- Review the upcoming government-order schedule early enough to identify packaging needs and communicate material requirements to the supervisor before production reaches shipping.
- Monitor packaging inventory and participate in cycle counts, material organization, reorder-point reviews, and supply ordering as assigned.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe packing area and protect finished product from damage or contamination.
- Escalate unclear, conflicting, or missing requirements before packing; never assume or substitute materials without authorization.
- Take ownership of assigned work, communicate delays immediately, correct errors, and assist with shipping, receiving, and loading activities when needed.
