Position Summary The Product Finisher seams, hems, and installs grommets on printed vinyl billboard advertisements, banners and signs according to job order specifications. The Product Finisher is responsible for quality control and timely shipment of all finished products. Additional responsibilities include shop cleanliness, machine maintenance, and supplies. Essential Job Functions and Tasks- These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department. Retrieves/receives rolls of printed vinyl from Print Shop using a forklift and trailer. Responsible for verifying print quality of supplied vinyl and reviewing for defects. Immediately report to the Manager any quality issues or errors. Pulls orders for processing from online ordering system. Finishes vinyl products using a heat welder or sewing machine. Add grommets, pockets, or other finishing items as required. Prepares final product for shipment by folding, boxing and attaching shipping labels. Maintains the work area daily by sweeping floor, emptying trash, storing tools/equipment, and replenishing supplies. Breakdown and discard outer casings and tubes. Conducts basic troubleshooting, maintenance and cleanliness of production equipment. Communicate machine downtime to the Manager immediately and perform lock out/tag out procedures as required. Maintains focus on safety by utilizing safety equipment and knee pads. Reports any safety hazards or incidents immediately to the Manager. Attend weekly department meeting. Actively participate in communicating production issues, shipment/delivery schedules, cost saving opportunities, or process improvement initiatives. Must be able to perform at a high level in all Product Finisher functions. Work at a pace consistent with immediate work order count. Remain always engaged, either performing duties to complete orders or maintaining housekeeping. Appropriately manage timecard, schedule and overtime. Maintain a high level of teamwork and be willing and able to share knowledge with or lend a helping hand to coworkers when the need arises. Performs similar or related duties as required or assigned.Requirements:
Work Environment This work environment is a warehouse type environment with moderate to high noise level. Physical Demands The physical requirements listed for this job are not exhaustive and additional requirements may be added as needed. Corrective devices may be used to meet physical requirements.Physical Exertion :
The incumbent will frequently be required to lift approximately 25 - 45 pounds. Must be able to push or pull up to 80 pounds with a dolly.Vision :
The incumbent must possess close, midrange, distance, and peripheral vision; as well as the ability to identify colors, judge distances and adjust focus.Speaking/Hearing :
The incumbent must be able to give and receive information through speaking and listening.Motor Coordination :
The incumbent in this position is frequently required to: use their hands and reach with their hands and arms. The incumbent is periodically required to: sit. The incumbent must be able to spend long periods of time standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or bending. Required Education and Experience High school diploma (or equivalent) is required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to perform physical work for up to 8 hours a day, plus overtime when necessary. Ability to use, or willing to learn to use, heat welder, grommet machine, sewing machine, saws-all, and dolly. Ability to drive a forklift, Forklift Certification Attention to quality details High awareness of safety Microsoft Office and Internet Browser experience Flexibility to learn and perform other duties within the warehouse or print shop.
