Job Description

Overview Phil's Firewood is Philadelphia's leading residential and commercial firewood supplier since 2009. As a Logistics Associate/Packer, you will be an integral part of our operations team. Your primary responsibility will be to efficiently and accurately pack and prepare firewood for delivery. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, possess excellent organizational skills, and have a keen eye for quality control. •Eligibility to be promoted to driver•Successful associates with a current valid driver's license may be promoted to Delivery Driver, earning up to $35/hour.
Logistics Associate Job Responsibilities:
Able to work independently and efficiently open and close the wood yard Demonstrated ability to pack firewood in bags according to instructions, maximizing the amount of wood per bag Skillful in stacking full bags on pallets/in-house, 3-4 bags high, ensuring stability and safety Ability to separate kindling and odds & ends from other firewood and pack them in separate bags, following instructions Proficient in counting and recording the total number of bags accurately Willingness to clean up the work area, as instructed
Schedule:
This opportunity is part-time and does not have a regular schedule. It is scheduled as-needed with advance notice, typically 1-2 consecutive days of work every week.
Pay:
Not determined by an hourly rate, rather, it is calculated per wood load proportionate to how many bags each worker packs. The hourly range noted is an estimate of what workers average on any given work day. An efficient worker will easily earn in the middle or top of that range. The faster you pack, the more you can earn per load.
Qualifications:
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (50-70lbs) Ability to work outdoors in all seasons Must be a self-starter with high energy, a positive attitude, and dependability Able to remember/follow instructions High school diploma or equivalent is a plus, but not mandatory Driver's License is a plus, but not mandatory Previous experience in logistics, warehousing, or packing is a plus, but not mandatory
Pay:
$10.00 - $20.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
