Our team prepares and protects customer products for safe transportation and storage, including high-value and specialized equipment. You'll work directly with customer requirements while also working on the warehouse floor to ensure products are properly handled, packaged, documented, and prepared for shipment. What You'll Do Build custom wooden crates, skids, and other packaging solutions based on customer requirements and production plans. Safely package and secure customer products for transportation and storage. Load and unload customer freight using forklifts and overhead cranes. Inspect incoming and outgoing freight for damage, accuracy, and proper documentation. Communicate directly with customers by phone, email, and Microsoft Teams regarding orders, packaging requirements, shipment status, and questions. Enter and process customer orders using internal and customer-specific systems. Respond to customer requests professionally and provide timely updates. Read and interpret BoxCAD drawings, work instructions, measurements, and customer specifications. Identify and match materials to the appropriate customer product or packaging project. Measure, brace, secure, and protect products according to established packaging procedures. Complete required paperwork, production records, and shipping documentation accurately. Perform daily inspections of forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment. Assist with inventory and material tracking. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Work closely with the Operations team to meet customer requirements and deadlines. Perform other operational duties as needed. What We're Looking For Previous experience in industrial packaging, custom crating, warehousing, logistics, shipping, manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Forklift experience required. Overhead crane experience required. Strong customer service and communication skills. Comfortable communicating with customers by phone, email, and Microsoft Teams. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and data entry systems. Ability to read work instructions, shipping documents, drawings, and customer requirements. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Experience with hand tools, power tools, measurement tools, and material handling equipment. Woodworking or custom crate-building experience preferred. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and maintain accurate production records. High School diploma or GED preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and balance as required. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift. Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes. Work Environment This position works primarily in an indoor industrial warehouse/manufacturing environment. The work environment may be loud and includes exposure to moving equipment, vehicles, physical obstacles, and other industrial hazards. Employees are required to follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate clothing, and safety footwear.
