$19.35/hr Job Description This role involves working in a fast-paced food production environment to safely and efficiently pack finished products, maintain quality standards, and support sanitation activities on the production line. You will operate on either a daytime or afternoon-to-late shift schedule, handling high-volume packing, basic inspection, and routine cleaning tasks to ensure products meet quality and safety requirements. Responsibilities Pack up to 80 bags per minute into boxes while maintaining consistent speed and accuracy. Count and verify the correct number of bags placed in each case according to specifications. Lift and place boxes onto conveyors and pallets, ensuring stable and safe stacking. Palatalize boxes onto skids in an organized and secure manner for transport or storage. Perform spot checks on seals, weight, code dates, and overall appearance of finished packages to ensure quality standards. Sort used cardboard and maintain an organized work area around packing lines. Supply packing lines with cartons and other necessary materials to prevent production delays. Apply price stickers to sale items as needed and ensure proper placement and labeling. Inspect finished potato chips for quality, including appearance and condition. Clean machines, conveyors, chip bins, walls, and floors as needed throughout the shift. Participate as part of the sanitation team, cleaning all equipment at the end of each shift. Use cleaning chemicals safely and perform deep cleaning tasks each Friday or as required. Recognize and identify problems with equipment, product, or packaging and promptly report issues to management. Follow written and verbal instructions, rules, and procedures related to food safety, quality, and workplace safety. Work effectively without direct supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards. Collaborate and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and support team goals. Essential Skills High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to six months of related experience and/or training in packaging, production, or inventory, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and documents such as rules and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees in a production environment. Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Strong hand-eye coordination to handle high-speed packing and inspection tasks. Ability to perform job duties without direct supervision while maintaining accuracy and productivity. Ability to create and maintain cooperation with co-workers and work well in a team setting. Ability to read and write to follow instructions, complete documentation, and understand safety and quality guidelines. Comfort working in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment. Ability to safely lift and move boxes and materials as required by the role. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in food production, packaging, or manufacturing environments. Familiarity with inventory processes and supplying production lines with materials. Experience performing sanitation or cleaning tasks in an industrial or production setting. Comfort using cleaning chemicals and following safety procedures for sanitation. Attention to detail when checking product seals, weights, code dates, and appearance. Reliability and flexibility to work varying shift lengths depending on production needs, including late finishes and occasional Saturdays. Willingness to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards. Why Work Here? The role includes working as part of the sanitation team, cleaning equipment at the end of each shift and performing deep cleaning on Fridays using appropriate chemicals. Dress code requires closed-toe shoes and long work pants. The company provides hair nets, safety glasses, gloves, and face masks. Employees must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including maintaining proper hygiene and avoiding items such as certain head coverings, nail polish, and glitter on clothing to protect product quality and safety. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Thomasville, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
