Job Description

Job Title:
Pallet Builder Job Summary:
The Pallet Builder is responsible for constructing, repairing, and inspecting wooden pallets to meet company and customer specifications. This role involves operating hand and power tools, working with various wood materials, and maintaining a safe, organized work area while meeting production quotas.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble CHEP pallets according to size, weight, and design specifications using nail guns, hammers, and other hand/power tools Inspect incoming pallets and lumber for defects, damage, or non-conforming materials Repair or rebuild damaged pallets, replacing broken boards, blocks, or stringers as needed Sort and stack finished pallets by size, grade, or customer order Maintain accurate production counts and complete required paperwork/logs Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use (gloves, eye/ear protection, steel-toed boots) Keep work area clean and free of debris, nails, and scrap material Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to a supervisor promptly Meet daily/weekly production quotas while maintaining quality standards
Requirements & Qualifications:
Prior experience in pallet manufacturing, woodworking, or a similar warehouse/production role preferred Ability to use hand tools and power tools (nail guns, saws) safely and effectively Basic math skills for measuring and counting Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to obtain) High school diploma or equivalent preferred, not always required
Physical Demands:
Frequent lifting, bending, and standing for full shifts Exposure to noise, sawdust, and varying temperatures (often non-climate-controlled warehouse settings) Repetitive motion tasks (hammering, nailing, stacking)

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
