Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Picker to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing products for shipment, ensuring that order fulfillment is executed efficiently and precisely. The ideal candidate will possess strong manual handling skills, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and experience operating various types of heavy equipment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to seamless warehouse operations, support inventory accuracy, and uphold safety standards across all tasks. Responsibilities Efficiently pick items from designated storage locations using barcode scanning technology and RF scanners to ensure accurate order fulfillment. Operate material handling equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment safely and effectively. Prepare orders for shipment by packing items securely, verifying quantities, and ensuring proper labeling according to shipping protocols. Maintain accurate inventory records within warehouse management systems, conducting regular stock checks and updates. Assist with loading and unloading shipments, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage. Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all warehouse activities. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow, improve picking accuracy, and maintain high standards of quality control. Support shipping and receiving processes by managing incoming stock and organizing outgoing orders efficiently. Participate in inventory management tasks including stock replenishment, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution. Adhere strictly to safety protocols during manual handling, heavy lifting, and operation of mechanical equipment. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers with a focus on order picking and packing. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, RF scanners, and inventory management systems. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, with valid certifications preferred. Strong manual handling skills with knowledge of safe lifting techniques and PPE use. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities accurately. Mechanical aptitude or previous experience operating material handling equipment is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order accuracy and inventory control. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards. Good communication skills to coordinate effectively within a team setting. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse distribution activities.
