Work Environment As a mental health therapist at our community health clinic, you will operate in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, working alongside seasoned professionals—including physicians, nurses, and case managers—in a virtual setting. Your contributions will be vital in fostering a supportive atmosphere that empowers clients to engage actively in their treatment plans from the comfort of their homes. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of clients' substance abuse histories and mental health statuses, utilizing standardized screening tools to identify specific treatment needs. Formulate individualized treatment plans that address both immediate substance abuse issues and any underlying mental health conditions, ensuring they are adjustable to the clients' progress. Lead both individual and group therapy sessions employing effective evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Engage in regular communication and collaboration with other health professionals to coordinate comprehensive, integrated treatment for clients. Educate families about the recovery process, encouraging their involvement and support to enhance clients' chances for successful rehabilitation. Maintain accurate documentation and records of client interactions and treatment progress in compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be individuals coping with substance addiction. Clients often present with co-occurring mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, or trauma-related conditions. You will be responsible for using your expertise to help them navigate their unique challenges while incorporating best practices in addiction therapy. Qualifications A valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). A master's or doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Specialized training in addiction counseling and familiarity with substance abuse treatment modalities. Proficient understanding of evidence-based practices related to substance abuse and mental health issues. Demonstrated therapeutic and counseling skills, capable of forming rapport and inspiring clients toward recovery. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration within a health care team. Preferred Experience A minimum of 2 years' direct experience in mental health counseling with a focus on substance abuse treatment is strongly preferred. Experience utilizing digital platforms to deliver therapy in remote settings. Familiarity with substance abuse assessment tools and outcome measurement methodologies. Compensation and Benefits A competitive annual salary in the range of $80,000 to $100,000, based on experience and qualifications.
