Job Summary:
Responsible for accurately and efficiently packing live biological specimens and related products for shipment to customers. This position requires careful attention to detail, adherence to handling procedures, and the ability to work in a controlled environment while maintaining the quality and viability of live specimens.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Carefully pack live biological specimens according to established procedures and customer requirements. Select appropriate packaging materials and containers to protect specimens during transportation. Verify orders for accuracy, including species, quantities, labels, and shipping information. Handle live specimens safely and carefully to minimize stress, damage, or loss. Prepare shipments for daily pickup and ensure packages are properly labeled and secured. Maintain accurate packing and shipping records. Monitor temperature, moisture, and other environmental requirements when applicable. Follow established procedures for handling, storing, and packaging live biological materials. Inspect specimens and packaging for quality and report any issues to supervisors. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area. Follow all company safety, quality, and animal/biological handling procedures. Work efficiently to meet daily production and shipping deadlines. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Previous packing, warehouse, production, or laboratory experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow written procedures. Comfortable working with live biological specimens. Ability to handle delicate materials carefully and consistently. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to lift and move packages/materials as required. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Willingness to follow strict safety, sanitation, and quality-control procedures. #LIND26
