Day Shift Starting Pay:
$23/hour Milgard Windows and Doors is hiring a Shipper I in Fife, WA. In this role, you will be responsible for building crates and protective enclosures used to ship windows, doors, and other large or irregularly shaped products. This position requires experience reading shipping notices and specifications, inspecting products, and determining appropriate materials, supports, and bracing to ensure safe transport. Key Responsibilities Lay out dimensions on materials using rulers, measuring tape, and pencils Cut materials to size using saws and other tools Assemble wood materials and shipping containers Safely place products into containers or crates Bolt heavy pieces to container bottoms or skids as required Build enclosures around large or odd‑shaped products Attach identification labels or stencils indicating destination, weight, and product type Count and verify items to ensure compliance with shipping orders Complete required shipping paperwork Meet daily production requirements and delivery schedules Minimize waste in accordance with employee MPS commitments Maintain a clean and hazard‑free work area Inspect, maintain, and report issues with equipment and tools Follow safe work practices to ensure a safe working environment Read and understand product information tags to ensure all specifications and options are met Qualifications Previous experience in a similar environment handling finished goods of varying sizes Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to write simple correspondence Ability to communicate effectively in one‑on‑one and small group settings Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals Ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret basic graphs What We Offer Our benefits package includes coverage of your health, wealth, and wellness for you and your eligible spouse/dependents.
