Strategic Procurement Manager $115,000 Birmingham, AL Our client is seeking a strategic, results-driven Supply Chain Operations Manager to join their enterprise procurement team. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of a dedicated portfolio of national contracts, driving cost-reduction strategies and supplier negotiations across a nationwide network of healthcare facilities. This is an individual contributor role with significant scope, perfect for an experienced procurement professional who excels at enterprise-level contracting, market trend analysis, and stakeholder accountability. Job Duties:
Drive enterprise-wide cost reduction through strategic standardization, value analysis, and pricing initiatives Lead the full lifecycle of contract negotiations, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and competitive bidding Own a dedicated portfolio of categories, monitoring market trends, emerging technologies, and new clinical supply needs Oversee supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to contract terms and resolving operational issues proactively Educate facility staff on supply chain best practices, inventory forecasting, and order-to-pay processes Analyze performance metrics including buy-right percentages, cost-per-case, and supply ratios to identify savings Support the rollout and implementation of national contracts and large-scale product conversions Facilitate collaborative discussions with regional stakeholders to present supply chain metrics and cost-saving opportunities Partner internally to maintain accurate catalog databases, item masters, and data analytics systems
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field 5 to 7+ years of professional experience in procurement, supplier management, or contract negotiation Proven track record of successfully managing RFPs and negotiating major commercial contracts Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and industry-standard procurement software Strong data analysis skills with the ability to translate complex metrics into actionable business solutions Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a history of building trusted vendor relationships Background in healthcare, medical supply chain, or Ambulatory Surgery Centers is strongly preferred Familiarity with inventory control processes, par levels, and supply chain data warehousing (SQL experience is a plus) At our clients' request, only individuals with required experience will be considered.
