Job Description
Indirect Sourcing /
We are growing in our Mobile, AL area manufacturing/industrial site location, and we now have an immediately open role open for an Indirect Sourcing/Procurement Manager for a NEW role on our team, where you will be helping to setup the procurement processes, and will personally be responsible for leading all indirect purchasing activities across the organization, with a strong focus on MRO procurement, CAPEX sourcing, supplier management, and the development of scalable procurement processes. This role ensures cost effective purchasing, drives supplier performance, and establishes best in class sourcing practices that support operational excellence and long term business growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesFirst and foremost, you will help to Qualify need, and to establish processes for all of our indirect procurement activities, as this is a NEW role, offering an opportunity to take on a fairly BLANK SLATE and to make it work the way you know how!
You will lead the Indirect Procurement categories, including MRO, facilities, professional services, IT, logistics, and corporate services.
Manage MRO purchasing end to end: supplier selection, contract negotiation, inventory alignment, and ongoing performance management.
Oversee CAPEX procurement, including sourcing of equipment, tooling, and major capital investments; partner with engineering, operations, and finance to ensure alignment with project timelines and budgets.
Develop and implement indirect purchasing processes, including standardized workflows, approval matrices, supplier onboarding, and compliance controls.
Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to reduce total cost of ownership, consolidate suppliers, and improve service levels.
Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, warranties, and long term agreements.
Analyze spend data to identify cost saving opportunities, category strategies, and supplier performance trends.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring accountability, continuous improvement, and risk mitigation.
Collaborate cross functionally with operations, finance, engineering, and leadership teams to support business objectives.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.5-10 years of experience in indirect procurement, with direct responsibility for MRO and CAPEX purchasing.
Proven experience building or optimizing indirect procurement processes and implementing best practices.
Demonstrated success in high stakes supplier negotiations; able to influence outcomes and secure measurable cost savings.
Strong understanding of sourcing methodologies, contract management, and supplier performance metrics.
Ability to analyze complex spend data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or multi site environments.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and procurement platforms (QAD, SAP, Oracle, Coupa, etc.).Certification such as CPSM, CSCP, or PMP is always a PLUS, but not a MUSTExceptional negotiation skills - able to lead competitive bidding, challenge supplier pricing, and secure long term value.
Strategic thinking with a continuous improvement mindset.
Strong business acumen and financial awareness.
Ability to build structure in evolving or fast growing environments.
