Job Description:
The Procurement Manager oversees the sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management of raw proteins, ingredients, packaging materials, and operational supplies. This role is responsible for ensuring supply continuity, cost control, inventory optimization, quality compliance, and supplier performance while supporting production and business objectives. Essential Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies to support company goals. Negotiate pricing, contracts, rebates, and supplier agreements to maximize value and control costs. Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance, quality, delivery, and service levels. Analyze inventory, forecasts, and production requirements to maintain optimal inventory levels. Identify cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and supply chain risk mitigation strategies. Monitor commodity markets and develop alternate sourcing plans to ensure supply continuity. Collaborate with Operations, Production, Quality, Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams. Ensure compliance with food safety, USDA, customer, and company quality standards. Maintain purchasing records, supplier documentation, contracts, and ERP system data. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement efficiency and supplier performance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, preferably in food manufacturing. Experience sourcing proteins, food ingredients, packaging materials, and operational supplies. Strong negotiation, supplier management, and cost analysis skills. Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Canopy ERP preferred), QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office. Understanding of USDA, GMP, HACCP, SQF, and food safety requirements preferred. Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
