Job Description
Import Manager — Drive Our Global Supply Chain Forward Scott Lamp Companies is looking for a highly organized, proactive Import Manager to lead our Import Division and keep our global supply chain moving. Reporting directly to the Owners, you'll play a key role in managing overseas purchasing, vendor relationships, transportation, product quality, and day-to-day import operations. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives on communication, problem-solving, and keeping multiple moving pieces on track. You'll work closely with overseas suppliers, our China office, purchasing and receiving teams, QC, shipping, and company leadership to ensure products are ordered accurately, produced to our standards, and delivered on time. Oversee Scott Lamp Companies Import Division, reviewing MRP requirements reports, overseeing all purchasing, transportation and ensuring quality of all products imported from overseas vendors. Oversee the daily workflow of the department within Epicor, email and phone communications. Duties/Responsibilities
- Write up and send purchase orders to vendors based on requirements in Epicor with supplementary support information such as drawings, and finish samples in a timely manner.
- Oversee Import vendor communication in regards to PO's and supporting information.
- Manage in vendor selections based on past performance, abilities and current order backlog.
- Work with vendors and our China office to schedule shipments and container consolidations.
- Work with SLC receiving team for container arrival and unloading
- Develop and maintain business relationships with overseas suppliers
- Complete various tasks as requested by others, including inventory related projects, review of previously received items.
- Quotations for current and potential projects, reviewing & sending RFQ's to overseas vendors. Part number entry and maintenance in Part Master in Epicor.
- Work to Ensure Samples Ship on Time.
- Assist in Processing FedEx / Air Cargo Shipments.
- Correct Discrepancies in Epicor, part descriptions, quantities as required in Epicor.
- Assist in Inbound Order Tracking from overseas vendors.
- Help with QC and shipping departments to ensure all new is assigned to proper location bins.
- Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements International travel, must have a current passport.
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per yearWork Location:
