About the Role We are seeking an experienced Production Planning & Purchasing Manager to take ownership of our manufacturing planning, material requirements, purchasing, and inventory control processes. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of a reliable sales-order-to-production planning process in QuickBooks Enterprise, including the reconciliation of existing inventory, purchasing, and production records. This is a hands-on management position requiring direct involvement in daily planning, purchasing, and process improvement. Key Responsibilities Production & Material Planning Establish and manage the complete planning process from customer sales orders through production requirements and material availability. Review existing Pending Builds and create additional builds based on outstanding manufacturing requirements. Coordinate production priorities and manufacturing schedules with the Production Manager. Manage material requirements planning for products involving multi-level BOMs and complex assemblies. Establish consolidated material shortage reporting across multiple production orders. Purchasing Management Develop purchasing plans based on production requirements, verified inventory availability, and supplier lead times. Manage purchase order preparation, supplier coordination, and material delivery schedules. Consolidate material requirements to avoid duplicate or unnecessary purchasing. Coordinate purchasing activities with the Purchasing Assistant. Identify critical shortages, expedite materials, and coordinate alternative sourcing when necessary. Inventory Reconciliation & ERP Implementation Lead the reconciliation of inaccurate inventory records, outstanding purchase orders, and existing production builds. Coordinate physical inventory verification and investigate discrepancies between actual inventory and ERP records. Establish reliable material requirements and purchasing plans even when existing ERP data is incomplete or inaccurate. Work with Engineering and Production to verify BOM accuracy. Implement procedures for inventory transactions, purchasing, production planning, and assembly builds. Establish accurate reporting and controls within QuickBooks Enterprise. Cross-Functional Coordination Coordinate planning and material availability across Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Finance. Establish daily and weekly planning reviews. Develop work instructions and train relevant team members. Maintain accountability for production readiness, inventory accuracy, and purchasing execution. Required Qualifications Extensive hands-on experience managing both production planning and purchasing in a manufacturing environment. Experience with multi-level BOMs, manufacturing work orders, and material requirements planning. Demonstrated experience reconciling inaccurate inventory and purchasing records. Experience implementing or improving manufacturing planning and ERP processes. Ability to independently establish reliable production and purchasing requirements when ERP data is incomplete. Experience managing suppliers, purchase orders, and material delivery schedules. Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional coordination skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise, including Inventory Assembly items, Pending Builds, and inventory reporting. Background in electronics, industrial equipment, instrumentation, or electromechanical manufacturing. Experience leading inventory cleanup or ERP process improvement projects.

certification. What We Are Looking For We need a hands-on manager who can independently establish and manage our production planning and purchasing processes. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly in the ERP system, investigating inventory discrepancies, verifying material requirements, and coordinating with the manufacturing team. This position is not limited to supervising employees or reviewing system-generated reports. We are looking for someone who can personally identify operational problems, implement solutions, and establish sustainable processes.
