Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement operations. This role owns the end-to-end purchasing function including supplier negotiation and cost management to MRP-driven demand planning and inventory optimization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on SAP power user who can translate complex demand signals into disciplined purchasing execution and who thrives in a fast-moving, multi-channel consumer products environment. Responsibilities Own and continuously refine MRP planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, reorder points, lot sizing) within SAP to align purchasing with sales forecasts and the Product Launch Calendar. Develop and execute purchase order strategy across all finished goods, components, and packaging, balancing cost, lead time, and working capital targets. Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and MOQs; manage the overseas manufacturing partner relationships and factory scorecards. Partner with Sales and Marketing to translate channel-level demand into accurate purchasing forecasts. Monitor and resolve supply exceptions escalating risk to launch timelines proactively. Manage inventory health across the network: minimize excess/obsolete stock while preventing stockouts on core and new SKUs. Own SAP master data integrity for materials, BOMs, vendor records, and planning parameters; drive continuous improvement of MRP logic and exception reporting. Build and present purchasing KPIs (fill rate, inventory turns, PO accuracy, cost variance) to executive leadership. Ensure compliance with import/export requirements, customs documentation, and vendor agreements. Mentor and develop the purchasing/buying team, establishing clear processes and accountability. Other duties may be assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience); APICS/CPIM or CSCP certification a plus. 7+ years of purchasing, procurement, or materials management experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
