Job Description
L.E.B.S. Electric, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly organized Purchasing Manager to join our Sarasota office. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, equipment, tools, and services required to support commercial electrical construction projects throughout Florida. This position plays a critical role in maintaining project schedules, controlling costs, building supplier relationships, and ensuring materials are delivered accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, construction industry experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage the purchasing process for electrical construction projects from procurement through delivery. Source, evaluate, and negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with vendors and suppliers. Prepare and issue purchase orders for project materials, equipment, tools, and supplies. Coordinate material deliveries to ensure project schedules are maintained. Review project drawings, specifications, and material requirements to ensure procurement accuracy. Work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Foremen, and field personnel to identify and fulfill material needs. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of stock items. Track and resolve material shortages, delivery delays, and vendor discrepancies. Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing databases, and vendor files. Analyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers. Verify invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and project cost control initiatives. Ensure compliance with company policies and contractual purchasing requirements. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Experience Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience required. Experience in electrical contracting, construction, or a related industry strongly preferred. Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating pricing agreements. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of purchasing and procurement practices. Understanding of electrical construction materials and equipment preferred. Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience with ERP, purchasing, or construction management software preferred. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
