We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee purchasing, inventory management, vendor relationships, and product administration for a manufacturing and distribution company. This position is responsible for ensuring materials and merchandise are purchased efficiently, inventory remains accurate, vendor relationships are maintained, and product information and costing are managed effectively. The ideal candidate is an organized, analytical leader with experience in purchasing, inventory control, supplier negotiations, and ERP systems. Essential Responsibilities Manage purchasing of raw materials, operating supplies, imported products, and merchandise for resale. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules while developing strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers. Communicate with vendors regarding quality concerns, product improvements, and new product development. Oversee inventory control, investigate discrepancies, approve inventory adjustments, and maintain out-of-stock reporting. Manage purchasing and inventory transactions within current ERP system (new system being implemented soon) , including receiving, purchase orders, and inventory accuracy. Create and maintain product master data, including new item setup, Bills of Material (BOMs), UPC codes, commission assignments, and product costing. Prepare annual product costing analyses and pricing recommendations. Coordinate product updates with Marketing, including pricing changes, merchandising programs, and new product information. Partner with Production, Warehouse, Compliance, Finance, and Executive Leadership to support inventory, imports, product compliance, and operational objectives. Supervise purchasing and inventory personnel, providing leadership, training, and performance management. Support physical inventories, cycle counts, and continuous process improvements. Qualifications Required Minimum 5 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Supervisory or leadership experience. Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships. Experience with inventory management and ERP systems. Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Experience with imported products, product costing, inventory control, and Bills of Material (BOMs). Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to use standard office equipment and computers for extended periods.
