  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Job Scope:
  • Generally responsible for Procurement planning and execution on major strategic projects. Responsibilities include strategic Supply Chain Management planning, developing requests for quote, evaluating commercial proposals, negotiating with suppliers, awarding purchase orders, and providing status reports to the project team and Client.
  • Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • + Developing procurement plans for the acquisition of goods and services in support of various projects. + Interpreting project scopes, statements of work and project schedules. + Mentoring less experienced Procurement Teammates. + Assisting in the development of project manhour estimates. + Leading a Procurement Team on various sizes and types of projects.
  • Ideal Background
  • Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in related field from an accredited university is highly preferred.
  • Registration:
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
  • This position requires at least 20 years of relevant industrial experience in Supply Chain Management, specifically in Project Procurement.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • + Familiarity with and utilization of department standards.

+ Familiarity with the execution of heavy industrial projects including chemical, refining, pulp and paper, power, and manufacturing.

+ Knowledge and application of company standards.

+ Ability to organize effectively and execute purchase orders/ contracts. + ⁠Complete understanding of contract language and commercial terms and conditions.

+ Working knowledge and understanding of contract law and the UCC.

+ Extreme attention to detail.

+ Ability to effectively negotiate contract conditions with suppliers and/or contractors.

+ Working knowledge of International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS).

+ Complete knowledge and understanding of payment terms.

+ Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.

+ Proficient in the use of SAP, Ariba or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

+ Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Physical Requirements:
  • + Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 lbs. + Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time
