Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sourcing Engineering Manager to lead our global NPI sourcing efforts. This role is crucial for facilitating time to market and early prototype realization, optimizing our supply chain, facilitating new supplier additions, driving cost reductions, and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of components and materials for Viavi Solutions' innovative products. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating cross-functionally to support new product introductions and positioning supply networks for growth as products mature.

Teaming closely with R D teams to ensure supply chain support of rapid prototyping projects including providing guidance on component and supplier selection and facilitating rapid sourcing strategies and tactics Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for various commodities and technologies, aligning with business objectives and product roadmaps. Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers globally, ensuring adherence to Viavi's quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes and long-term partnerships. Collaborate closely with R D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure seamless new product introductions (NPIs) and ongoing product support. Mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and logistical challenges. Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies to inform sourcing decisions. Develop and implement robust sourcing processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Prepare and present reports on sourcing performance, cost savings, and risk mitigation to senior management. Pre-Requisites / Skills /
Experience Requirements:
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field); Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, or procurement engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role. Proven track record of successful supplier management, negotiation, and cost reduction in a high-tech manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, plastics, PCB assembly, optics, electronics). Experience with global supply chains and working with international suppliers. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and supply chain management tools. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. Job Posting Pay Range:
84,000 to 156,000 Exceptional qualifications, experience and location may impact salary.
