About the Role We build premium AR-platform rifles and components for serious competition shooters, law enforcement, and government customers, and our standards are exacting. Purchasing is where that starts. If the right part isn't here, finished, and counted correctly when the build needs it, nothing else we do matters. This isn't a click-send-PO-and-wait job. Our parts move through several stages before they become something we sell. Raw material and components come in. Some go out to vendors for finishing and coating and come back. Some get built into sub-assemblies. Those sub-assemblies get pulled into packaged retail parts or into complete rifles as demand calls for it. You'll track every one of those handoffs. Right now that tracking happens across multiple QuickBooks company files, with manual transfers between them. We're moving to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. You'll run purchasing in the system we have today and help build it right in the one we're moving to. We're growing and putting real structure in place. We want someone who wants to grow with it. When you see a messy process, you want to fix it, not just survive in it. What You'll Actually Do Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for raw material, components, hardware, packaging, and outside services Run outside processing: send parts out for finishing, coating, and other vendor operations, track them while they're gone, and bring them back into inventory correctly Own receiving accuracy: match what arrives to what was ordered, and resolve shortages, overages, and discrepancies with vendors fast Track inventory through every stage (raw, at a vendor, sub-assembled, packaged for retail, or pulled into rifle builds) and keep the counts honest Work with production and the warehouse on what's needed and when, so builds don't stall and cash isn't buried in stock we don't need Chase vendor lead times and delivery dates before they go late, not after Maintain and improve the Excel tools that keep all of this visible, such as open PO reports, vendor tracking, reorder points, and outside-processing logs Help migrate purchasing, vendor, and item data into Business Central and set up the processes we'll run there What We're Looking For (Required) 3+ years in purchasing, buying, or inventory control in manufacturing. Machined parts, multi-level BOMs, and outside processing (finishing, anodize, coatings, heat treat) should be familiar ground. Strong Excel. You're comfortable with lookups, pivot tables, and clean data, and you can build a tracking sheet from scratch without a template. We will test this in the interview. QuickBooks inventory experience, including purchase orders, receiving, and item and assembly records. You see the whole chain. When a count is off, you work with the team to trace it back to where it broke, and fix the process, not just the number. Proactive. You're chasing the late shipment before production asks where it is. Precision. Our product is built to tight tolerances, and so are our records. Must pass a criminal background check, be legally able to possess firearms, and be a U.S. person as defined under ITAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual). Nice to Have (Not Required) An ERP implementation or go-live under your belt, especially Business Central/Dynamics Experience running purchasing across multiple systems, company files, or locations Firearms industry experience, or familiarity with FFL/ATF acquisition and disposition recordkeeping Government contract purchasing experience, such as supplier flow-downs and SAM exclusion screening compliance ISO 9001 or other quality-system experience
