The Capital Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and oversight and management of capital projects across the NMHS healthcare organization. This role ensures that all capital initiatives—ranging from facility renovations and equipment installations to infrastructure upgrades—are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards. This position will directly oversee and manage the Capital Buyer and the Capital Coordinator while working closely with clinical, financial and operational stakeholders within NMHS. Acting as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors, the Capital Manager leads cross-functional teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, including scope development, budgeting, negotiation, scheduling, procurement, implementation, and closeout. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare operations, construction and equipment standards, and financial stewardship to ensure that capital investments support clinical excellence and operational efficiency. The Capital Manager is also responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and internal policies. Proficiency in ERP systems and capital benchmarking tools is essential for tracking project performance, analyzing costs, and reporting outcomes to leadership. This position demands strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a dynamic healthcare environment. Lead cross-functional teams in planning, negotiation, execution, and delivery of capital projects. Develop capital project scopes, budgets, timelines, and resource plans. Monitor capital project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and internal policies. Collaborate with finance, facilities, clinical teams, and vendors. Utilize ERP systems and capital benchmarking tools for tracking and reporting. Identify and mitigate capital project risks and issues . Manage Capital team on daily tasks and duties.Regulation:
Adheres toNMHS/NMMC
policies, procedures, and guidelines. Complies with applicable local, state, and federal procedures, guidelines, regulations, and laws.QUALIFICATIONS
Education Bachelor's Degree Business, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Finance or related field required.. Required Licenses and Certifications . . . Work Experience 7-9 years. 8 years of experience in project management, preferably in healthcare or capital projects.. Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities Excellent communication collaboration and delegation skills Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint Must have working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems and synthesizing data into comprehensive exception reporting on daily, weekly, monthly cadence as required Must understand and have experience in using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units. Must have strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes and projects simultaneously. Must help recruit, train, develop and supervise analyst-level employees Must exhibit a high level of initiative, accuracy, diplomacy, and self-direction. Must effectively and efficiently organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective management of analyst and data training employees, as well as collaboration with key stakeholders. Must exhibit and promote integrity in the workplace Must consistently complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions Must understand this is a highly visible leadership role that will be in front of client executive leadership providing progress reports, forecasts, dashboards, and analysis of various situations regarding the support of reporting solutions. Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Must exhibit a professional demeanor, telephone etiquette, proficient oral and written communication, and excellent interpersonal skills.
